I just love bright and sunny days! They bring so much warmth and light. It makes the days even better for the kids to play outside and soak in the warm beams. Some days the sun just doesn’t want to come out and play, and those are the days where my kids love to make this Fun Sun Papercraft. That helps them bring the sunshine inside!

How to make Fun Sun Papercraft

Supplies

supplies to make a sun papercraft: glue, scissors, marker, colored paper

How to Make a Fun Sun Papercraft

Green, blue, yellow, and red cut outs for the sun's rays
  • Step 1: cut four paper strips of each color to make the sun’s rays. Dimensions (3 inches of length).
The cutout rays, including the circle for the sun
  • Step 2: cut a big yellow circle that will be the sun’s face.
The rays are being attached to the body of the sun
  • Step 3: glue the strips two by two of each color, folding them in half repeating this in all perimeter.
The sun with the rays, eyes, and mouth attached
  • Step 4: print and cut the eyes and the mouth then glue them to make the sun’s face. If you want you can also draw it!

Now you have a really fun sun to play with!

Tips and Tricks

  • Colored construction paper. Making sure you have a lot of colors, they can make their rays of sunshine even more playful and exciting! 
  • Elmer’s glue. Elmer’s glue is the best kid friendly glue that works great with papercrafts.
  • Markers. If you have markers, it can sometimes be easier for younger kids to draw on the face rather than cut and glue smaller pieces.

    How Do I Print A PDF?

    You’ll need a program that supports PDFs. Adobe Acrobat is a great option. Open the program, click file, then print. Select your printer and the number of copies you want to print. Be sure you click double-sided if you want it to print on both sides. 

    Can I Resell These?

    You may not resell any printable or template that you find on our website or receive in your email. You may use them for class parties, at church, at home, or in the classroom. You may get these printed at an office supply store or copy center at your own expense.
