  • Colored craft paper
  • White paper (9” x 9”) for the web
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue
  • Black sharpie

How to Make the Handprint Spider

  1. Make the Spiderweb– Fold a square white paper (9″ x 9″) into vertical, horizontal, and diagonal folds. Use the included template to draw the web pattern and cut along the marked sections. Unfold to reveal your spooky spider web!

  1. Trace and Cut– Use thick paper to trace and cut out two handprints (legs), a spider head, and eye bases from the template.

  1. Trim and Assemble Legs– Cut off the thumb from each handprint, then overlap the palms and glue together to form the spider’s legs.

  1. Build the Spider– Attach the head to the overlapped handprints. Draw eyes and a smile, then glue the eye pieces in place.
  2. Add the Hanging Strip– Glue a white paper strip to the top of the spider’s head and connect it to the spiderweb. Your friendly spider is now ready to hang!
