- No fancy supplies. Just colored paper (or crayons for coloring), glue, scissors, and our pufferfish template.
- So many color options. Kids can make realistic pufferfish or go wild with rainbow fish covered in spikes.
- Display-worthy. Hang them on a bulletin board “swimming” across blue paper or string them into an ocean garland.

How to Make This Easy Pufferfish Craft for Kids

Step 1: Make the Pufferfish Body
- Cut out a large circle from colored cardstock for the pufferfish body.
- Glue the tummy piece (the big triangle or wedge shape) near the bottom of the circle so it looks like the underside of the fish.

Step 2: Add the Fins
- Glue one fin to each side of the circle so they stick out like little paddles.
- Press them down firmly so they don’t pop off while kids keep crafting.
Step 3: Build the Eyes
- Glue the white circles near the top of the pufferfish’s face.
- Add the black pupils on top of the white circles.
- You can line them up neatly or tilt them for a silly, surprised pufferfish expression.
Step 4: Create the Nose / Mouth Area
- Glue the oval nose piece in the center where the tummy and face meet.
- If your template includes an extra ring, glue that on top to make a raised snout—perfect for a pufferfish!

Step 5: Add the Spikes
- Use the small triangle pieces from the template as spikes.
- Glue them around the edges of the pufferfish’s body, pointing outward.
- Kids love this part—let them decide how “spiky” their fish should be.
Step 6: Draw the Details
- Use markers to add a smile, eyebrows, or extra dots and lines on the tummy or fins.
- If you want a “super spiky” pufferfish, kids can draw more tiny spikes or texture all over the body.

Let everything dry, and your paper pufferfish craft is ready to swim into your ocean display!
