One of my favorite ever handprint crafts has been this Handprint Butterfly. It had a very minimal mess and turned out super cute!

The possibilities for this Handprint Cow are endless! Add a magnet on the back for a cute touch to your fridge. Write a cute note on the back and give it away as a present for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. Send it to Grandma and Grandpa through the mail. They’ll love it!
Papercraft For Kids
Paper crafts are one of our favorite activities in our house. They are super easy and very convenient (we typically already have the supplies on hand). They’re also great for my kids’ development.
Paper crafts allow your child to practice their tracing and cutting abilities, improving their fine motor skills. They also help teach your child creativity, focus, and patience. Crafting is a great way to help children express themselves and use their imagination!
Another thing that we love about our Handprint Cow Papercraft is that it’s fully customizable, like most of our papercrafts. You can make a cow that’s black and white or one that’s brown and white. Does your child want to make a pink cow with purple spots? They can! Just grab pink and purple craft paper and paint.
You and your child will love creating this craft. It is sure to get you in a creative MOO-d! Grab your crafting supplies and let’s get started!

How To Make a Handprint Cow Puppet
Directions
- Pick out your colored craft paper for the head, horns, body, outer ears, inner ears, tail tip, and mouth. We’re using while for the head, body, and outer ears, gray for the horns, black for the tail tip, and pink for the inner ears and mouth.
- Trace each pattern on the desired craft paper and carefully cut them out with scissors.
- Use glue to attach one of the inner ear pieces to the center of one of the outer ear pieces. Repeat for the other ear.
- Glue the mouth piece to the bottom of the head.
- Attach the ears to the top of the head; one ear on each side.
- Glue the horns between the ears.
- Grab your sharpie and draw on the eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Use your hand to trace the cow’s body on the same colored paper used for the head. Carefully cut it out.
- Use black acrylic paint to trace the patterns on the cow. Paint the end of the thumb for the tail. Paint the tips of the other fingers for the hooves.
- Paint spots on your cow with the black acrylic paint.
- Glue the tail to the tip of the thumb.
- Finally, glue the head onto the handprint body and you’ve completed the craft!
Tips and Tricks
- Make this into a cute fridge magnet! Use some hot glue to attach a square magnet to the back. Your child will love seeing their art work up for everyone to see.
- Googly eyes make everything so silly. Glue on googly eyes instead of drawing on the eyes to add some animation to your craft.
- Want to make it a puppet? Just hot glue a popsicle stick to the back!
- Make your own cow the way you like it! Allow your child to get creative with their cow. Let them choose the colors and patterns
More Cow Ideas
Do your kids just love cows? My son does. And he thinks these cow jokes are just hilarious. He almost dies laughing all the time! His favorite is when we play animal charades and he picks the cow card.
Have your child pretend they’re a cowboy or cowgirl, gathering their herd of cows to the barn. Just make sure they grab their cowboy hat! They can use stuffed animals for their cows. Or you can grab this adorable cow plush for them to practice their lassoing skills on.
