Not going to lie, I didn’t know much about oxen until I started researching about them this week. Did you know that an ox is basically a male cow that has been tamed and trained to do farm work? I didn’t!

Oxen are large and strong animals that do a lot of heavy pulling. They are often used to help farmers do some of the heavier work on the farm. Something really cool about oxen is that a team of them can pull up to 13,000 pounds! How crazy is that?

If you have a kiddo who wants to pretend they are an ox or just wants to learn more about them, try making this fun Ox Headband Craft. This cool headband will make you want to MOO-ve around like an ox. It may even motivate you to get some much needed work done!

Our Ox Headband is so fun to make. It’s also super easy! Our printable template makes cutting it out a whole lot easier. We’ve also got some simple and easy-to-follow directions.

The best thing about our Ox Headband is how great it is for children! Crafting in general is very beneficial for kids. Crafting encourages self-expression and creativity.

Kids also get the opportunity to work on their fine motor skills when they make a craft. By cutting, tracing, coloring, and gluing, children get the change to strengthen their fine motor abilities.

When it comes to cognitive development, crafts can help teach children shapes and colors, patience and concentration, and how to follow directions. If your child is about to be enrolled in school for the first time, learning how to follow directions can make that experience a lot easier.

After making your Ox Headband, you now have this cool animal headband to play with! Imagining that you’re an animal helps strengthen pretend-play skills, which are essential for social and emotional development. In other words, there are so many good reasons why you should craft with your child!
