How to Make a Paper Bag Zebra Puppet

  • Select white, black, gray and pink construction paper for the paper bag zebra puppet craft. 
  • Trace the template patterns on the selected construction and cut them out nicely. The template includes, black colored patterns (mane, tail tip and hoofs), white patterns (head, tail, outer ears, legs and body), pink patterns (inner ears), and grey patterns (mouth part).
  • Attach the inner ear cutouts on the outer ear cutouts.
  • Attach the tail tip on the tip of the tail cutouts.
  • Attach the hoof cutouts on the leg cutouts.
  • Attach the mouth part on the bottom part of the head cutout.
  • Use a sharpie to draw the eyes on the eye-base cutouts. 
  • Attach the eye cutouts on the head cutout. 
  • Attach the ear patterns on the top side of the head cutout.
  • Use a sharpie to trace borders around the eyes and to draw the nose and mouth lines. Also, use a sharpie to draw some stripes on the top and sides of the head pattern.
  • Attach the mane cutout on the top side of the head pattern.
  • Select a paper bag and cut out a white paper to cover either side of the paper bag, which will be the front side of the paper bag zebra puppet.
  • Attach the prepared paper on the paper bag. The closed side of the paper bag will be the top side of the paper bag puppet.
  • Attach the head pattern to the bottom side of the paper bag. Flatten the head pattern with the paper bag.
  • Attach the tail pattern on either side of the paper bag zebra puppet.
  • Use a sharpie to draw the striped patterns on the zebra puppet to complete the craft. 

Tips and Tricks

  • To add some texture to your zebra, try using felt for the black stripes!
  • You can make different, fun colored zebras by changing the white part of the zebra.
  • Have your kids write a show about the family of zebras and perform it for their parents.
  • Make a whole zoo of animals for your kids to pretend they are actually there!

  • Construction paper
  • Paper bag
  • Sharpie
  • Craft glue
  • Pencil
  • Scissors

Instructions

  • Select white, black, gray and pink construction paper for the paper bag zebra puppet craft.

How Do I Print A PDF?

You’ll need a program that supports PDFs. Adobe Acrobat is a great option. Open the program, click file then print. Select your printer and the number of copies you want to print. Be sure you click double-sided if you want it to print on both sides. 

Can I Resell These?
