Christmas time is my favorite time. My kids love it too! I am always looking for something fun and easy to do with my kids to get them excited about the holiday season. That’s where this Elf Paper Cup Craft comes in. It’s so easy to make that even the littlest hands can do it.

How to Make Paper Cup Elf

So easy to make! Print out the template and let’s get started!

  • Select colored craft papers for the head pattern of the paper cup Elf craft. The template includes the following patterns- head, hair, hat base, hat border, hat pompom, outer and inner ears, and blushes. 
  • Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut out the traced pattern.

  • Attach the hat border along the bottom side of the hat base.

  • Attach the pompom (round cutout) on the tip of the hat base.

  • Attach the inner ear cutouts on the outer ear cutouts and attach the hair cutout on the top side of the head cutout.

  • Attach the ear patterns on both sides of the head pattern. Attach the blush cutouts on the cheeks as well.

  • Attach the hat pattern on the top side of the head pattern.

  • Use a sharpie to draw the face of the Elf.

  • Select a paper cup and make sure that the outer surface is clean and dry.

  • Apply a coat of white paint in case the paper cup is colorful. Allow the white base coat to dry and then apply the final colors. Allow the final coat to dry completely.

  • The bottom closed end of the paper cup will be the top end of the Elf puppet. Attach the papercraft Elf head on the paper cup to complete the craft.

Tips and Tricks

  • Use them as Christmas decorations. Make a handful and place them around your house for some cute and festive decor. 
  • Get silly with googly eyes! Use googly eyes instead of drawing them on. It will add some fun to your elf!
  • Make different faces. Make your elves unique by giving them unique faces. Change the eyes, smile, or give them eyebrows. Make it your own!

  • Paint brush
  • Pencil
  • Glue Stick
  • Sharpie or gel pen
  • Paper cup

Instructions
