Supplies

How To Make A Paper Cup Turkey

  • Select construction paper for the turkey craft. The template includes patterns for the head and tail feather parts. 
  • Trace the template patterns on the selected construction and cut them out on the traced pattern.
  • Attach the big feather cutouts on the tail feather base cutout.
  • Attach the small feather cutouts on the big ones to complete the tail feather pattern.
  • Attach the wattle and the beak cutouts on the head cutout.
  • Attach the eyes and blush cutouts on the head pattern.
  • Select a paper cup and make sure the outer surface is clean and dry.
  • Apply a coat of white paint if the paper cup is colorful. Allow the white base to dry and then apply the final colors. Allow the final coat to dry completely.
  • Cut 1 cm slits in the bottom side of the tail feather pattern.

  • The bottom closed end of the paper cup will be the top end of the turkey craft. Attach the tail feather pattern on the backside of the paper cup turkey.

  • Attach the head pattern on the front side of the cup (opposite to the tail feather).

Tips and Tricks

  • Use them as Thanksgiving decorations. Make a handful and place them around your house for some cute, fall decor. 
  • Get silly with googly eyes! Use googly eyes instead of the eyes on the template. It will add some goofiness to your turkey!
  • Make different faces. Make your turkeys unique by giving them unique faces. Change the eyes or smile to make your own special turkey.
  • Be creative! While the pattern has all the turkey feathers together, you can easily make individual feathers in a variety of colors. 
  • Be Thankful! Turn the turkey feathers into a thankful turkey and write down the things you are most grateful for. 
  • Replace the feathers. Replace the paper feathers with actual feathers. 
  • Flip Your cup upside down! Build your turkey upside down so that the cup is right side up to fill it with goodies for your friends and family.

How Do I Print A PDF?

You’ll need a program that supports PDFs. Adobe Acrobat is a great option. Open the program, click file then print. Select your printer and the number of copies you want to print. Be sure you click double-sided if you want it to print on both sides. 

Can I Resell These?
