How to Make Star Wars Papercraft Puppets

  • Select colored paper according to the colors of each character (Baby Yoda, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Han Solo, C-3PO, Darth Vader).
  • Let’s start with the Chewbacca and Baby Yoda craft. Trace the patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out nicely.
  • Stick the inner ear parts of Baby Yoda in the middle of the ear parts attached to the head cutout. Stick the belt cutout diagonally on the body cutout of Chewbacca.
  • Stick the head cutouts of both Chewbacca and Baby Yoda on the top side of their body cutouts.
  • Use a black gel pen or sharpie to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth of the Baby Yoda and Chewbacca papercrafts.
  • Attach the Star Wars characters on popsicle sticks to complete the puppet crafts.
  • Continue using the templates to make the rest of the characters. Simply cut the template pieces, trace them onto the colored paper of your choice and glue the puppets together.

After these Star Wars puppets are complete, play out some of your favorite scenes of the movie as a family or create your own!

More Star Wars Activities

The love of Star Wars can carry on to so many more fun ideas to do with the kids!

Create a Star Wars Sensory bin. If your kids love to touch and feel things then create a fun sensory bin. Add some rice to a bin and add in all kinds of small Star Wars characters. Here your child can rummage through the rice to find them.

It seems like kids they love writing in fun creative ways. So grab some shaving cream and smear it on the table and then let your kids write the names of the Star Wars characters in the shaving cream. This will certainly be a messy project, but your kids will love writing which is great practice for them!

Don’t forget to grab some great books! Reading together creates a special bond between you and your kids and it is easy to get them excited about reading when it is something they love! We always have a few Star Wars books on hand to read together.

For my older kids, we love reading together Star Wars: Star Pilot as well as Clone Troopers in Action! Books are always a great way to spend time with your kids!

If your kids love creating paper airplanes you definitely want to grab this Star Wars Folded Flyers Activity Kit for your kids can build their own Star Wars planes to add to your Star Wars puppet show!
