Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • For the best simple strawberry sauce, add 1 cup of chopped strawberries, ¼ cup granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of water to a small saucepan. Heat the mixture on low-medium heat until it thickens to your desired consistency. It’s the perfect sweet sauce to pair with this stuffed french toast! Just make sure that you prepare it first so it has time to cool before serving.
  • I always mix together my egg mixture in a large rectangular food storage container. Trying to dip strawberry stuffed french toast, or anything square, into a circular mixing bowl just doesn’t work very well. It doesn’t matter what you use, but as long as it’s rectangular or square and large enough to fit your slices of bread, it’ll be perfect!
  • You can use any bread for this recipe, but I’d recommend using something thickly sliced and on the denser side. If you use your standard loaf of white bread it might not hold together well after being filled, dipped, and grilled. We usually use brioche from our grocery store’s bakery. But even a thick-sliced loaf like Texas toast will work well too.

Storage

Store any leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days. To reheat, I recommend putting them back on a hot pan for a few minutes on each side.

How to Keep Strawberry Stuffed French Toast Warm Until Serving

I hate when I’m trying to make a delicious breakfast and half of it is cold by the time we eat! So here’s what I do when I’m making a big batch of this cream cheese stuffed french toast.

When you are done grilling your toast, place the cooked slices in an oven-safe pan and cover it with aluminum foil. Turn your oven to the warm setting, or the lowest temperature it will allow.

Once the oven preheats, turn the oven off and place the pan inside. That way the french toast will stay hot without cooking anymore or drying out. Perfect hot breakfast every time!
