Elephant Papercraft for Kids

Every time we head to the zoo, the kids always beg to go see the elephants. They love to watch them and love just how cute they are!

So we decided to bring that cuteness home with this simple elephant project to add even more fun to our Paper Bag Lion Puppet, Alligator Papercraft, and all our other animal craft friends!

Supplies

Supplies needed for craft including blue scissors, yellow glue stick, colored paper and blue pencil

How to make an elephant out of paper

  • Select 2 different shades of blue-colored craft paper and pink-colored craft paper. 
  • Trace the inner ear patterns on the pink paper and the trunk on the darker shade of the blue paper. 
  • Trace the rest of the patterns on the other shade of blue paper.

  • Cut out the traced patterns nicely.  
  • Stick the inner ear patterns (pink patterns) on the outer ear patterns. 
  • Stick the tail pattern on either side of the body pattern. 
  • Stick the ear patterns on both sides of the head pattern, near the top side.

  • Stick the eyes and the trunk on the head pattern as well. Glue the top end of the trunk only, keeping the bottom side of the trunk free from glue. 
  • Stick the head pattern on the top side of the body pattern

  • Trace and cut out a heart shape from a colored craft paper of your choice. 
  • Place the heart under the trunk by sliding the heart from the bottom open side of the trunk.

How Do I Print A PDF?

You’ll need a program that supports PDFs. Adobe Acrobat is a great option. Open the program, click file then print. Select your printer and the number of copies you want to print. Be sure you click double-sided if you want it to print on both sides. 

Can I Resell These?

You may not resell any printable or template that you find on our website or received in your email. You may use them for class parties, at church, at home, or in the classroom. You may get these printed at an office supply store or copy center at your own expense.
