St. Patrick’s Day is such a fun holiday, with all the green, gold and rainbows. This Handprint Leprechaun is a fun way to celebrate the holiday! Gather your kids around the table, and spend time together creating a cute St. Patrick’s day craft.
Handprint Leprechaun
Sometimes it seems there aren’t a ton of kid-friendly St. Patrick’s Day activities, but we have tried adding more crafts to do as a family during this time of the year, and it has been so fun!
Last week, we did some Shamrock Salt Paintings and a Pot of Gold and Rainbow Papercraft, which were so fun! My kids love having holiday themed activities to do together as a family, and I really love hanging out with them, talking, and laughing together.
You’re going to love how simple this project is, though. We all know that life is busy and adding something complicated isn’t going to happen. This project is perfect because all you need is the handprint leprechaun template and the items off the supply list. You likely have most of these around your house. Simple and fun for the whole family, you included!

- Glue the nose cutout in the center of the head cutout.
- Glue the eyebrow cutouts above the nose, along the top part of the head.
- Glue the eye cutouts and then use a sharpie to draw the mouth.
- Cut slits along 2 opposite sides of the buckle (square yellow piece) and insert the belt strip through the slits. Glue to attach the belt with the buckle.
- Glue the hat belt on the hat base cutout.
- Glue the hat pattern on the top side of the head pattern.
- Glue the head on the handprint cutout, keeping the fingers facing down.
Tips and Tricks
- Don’t be tied to green! Let your kids be creative and make pink, purple, or blue leprechauns. The sky’s the limit.
- Use your kid’s handprints instead of the template handprint for a fun keepsake and a little variety amongst your leprechauns.
