Arts and crafts are a favorite activity in our home! We love to always have plenty of art supplies on hand to be able to make a project in minutes. It was so much fun to create a whole dog family in the process. They created a whole imaginative story!

With the easy-to-download template, you can do this project in about 15 minutes and kids as young as 3 to 4 could make the puppet. For younger children, you can easily precut the pieces so that they can glue them on.

This craft uses colored paper, a paper bag, glue, and scissors. You can easily embellish your puppy paper bag craft in a variety of ways to make it unique and special.

More Dog Themed Activities

With so many kids loving dogs, it is easy to create even more fun activities that involve them!

Go for a walk around the neighborhood! See how many dogs you see and you can hear. Talk with your kids about how each dog is different or even how each dog sounds differently.

If you have older kids, introduce them to Name That Puppy which is the perfect game for kids who love animals! For younger kids grab Puglicious. They can play these games over and over again.

Create a fun sensory bin with Dog Figurines mixed with rice. Your kids can dig through looking for the figurines and then spend the rest of the afternoon playing with them.

If you have a child who loves puppies and always wants to take care of one, think about adding this plush puppy dog to your toy collection or this interactive dog that they can play with.

End puppy week with a fun book! A teacher’s favorite is always Can I Be Your Dog? It’s our favorite too soon to be yours as well!
