Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • My dad always taught me to pour my french toast batter into a square baking dish or even a square food storage container and I still do every time I make it! Having a square container makes it so much easier to dip all of your french toast without wasting any batter or squishing your french toast.
  • In my opinion, nothing compares to french toast made with a soft brioche bread, but you can use just about any variety that your family likes. A loaf of Texas toast or any thickly sliced white bread will work just as well. As long as it won’t fall apart when soaked in the batter, it’ll be great!
  • You can top these french toast rolls with syrup or just serve it alongside some scrambled eggs and fruit. I’ve even done sweet and savory french toast brunches before and served these with my strawberry stuffed french toast. It was a total hit!

Storage

You can store these french toast sausage rolls in the fridge for up to 5 days in a sealed container. But the best news is these also freeze so well for a quick breakfast option! Wrap them in parchment and throw them in a freezer-safe bag in the freezer for 3-4 months.

When you are ready to reheat them, you can microwave them or bake them at 375 for 7-10 minutes or until warm.
