My kids love space. Everything about it. I can usually find them somewhere in the house, reading a book about planets or pretending to be astronauts, bouncing like they are in zero gravity.

Because I know they love it, we’ve done a whole bunch of different space crafts in our house. We have space shuttles and papercraft planet cards. We even print space color by number in bulk to always have them around! So I knew that any space-themed craft would be a hit with my kids.

This Handprint Rocket Craft is so simple and easy too, which I definitely appreciate! I love that we can get it done quickly so that my kids can get playing and use their imagination in their new craft.

Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t be tied to the colors we use! Rockets can be any color. Let your kids be creative!
  • You can also be creative with your materials. Use glitter cardstock or foam sheets instead of construction paper. You can add glitter glue or color with markers. Have fun!
  • If you have little kids, you might want to help trace and cut the template, so the pieces fit together nicely.
