Cinderella Paper Bag Puppet
Pretend play was always a big part of my daughter’s early years. I can promise you that she truly believed she was Elsa and that she could cause a snowstorm to happen at any moment. This love of Elsa started her love for ALL Disney princesses including Cinderella. That love developed into a love for the original Cinderella musical. In a theater camp one summer, she was given the song “In My Own Little Corner” to sing as her musical number.
From that day on Cinderella has truly held a special place in our hearts and will always be a sweet memory we treasure of my daughter’s childhood. If you too have a little princess in your home she will be thrilled to make her own Cinderella paper bag puppet and use her imagination to make her own play come to life.
Let your child explore their creativity as they craft this paper bag puppet and make up their own version of Cinderella. They could make this Paper Bag Beaver Puppet and Owl Paper Bag Puppet as well to have some woodland animals to use while acting out their version of Cinderella.

Directions To Make A Cinderella Paper Bag Puppet
- Select your construction paper for the Cinderella paper figure. You’ll need colored paper for the skin tone, yellow craft paper for the hair pattern, and 2 different shades of blue for the dress and the accessory patterns. Trace and cut out the patterns from the selected craft papers.
- Cut a slit along the zigzag line (yellow pattern) inside the hair pattern. Slide the top end of the head cutout through the slit from below. Apply glue to attach the head and hair patterns together.
- Attach the headband cutout on the hair part, below the bun part of the hair. Glue the earring cutouts (small round cutouts) on the ear parts of the head pattern. Use a sharpie to draw the eyes, nose and mouth-line of the Cinderella paper figure.
- You can trace and cut out the dress patterns from our template, or you can draw dress patterns of your own according to the size of the bag. Attach the dress patterns on the dress base cutout.
- Select a brown paper bag or craft your own paper bag from brown paper or craft paper. You can customize the dress design according to the size of the bag.
- Attach the dress pattern on either side of the paper bag, keeping the bottom side of the bag along the open side of the paper bag. Attach the arm cutouts with the sleeve cutouts.
- Attach the head pattern on the bottom side of the paper bag and flatten it with the dress part. Attach the hand patterns on both sides of the bag to complete the Cinderella paper bag pattern.
