2026 May Come Follow Me Primary Talks

Week #1 April 27- May 3: Exodus 35-40; Leviticus 1; 4; 16; 19

Junior- In the Old Testament, people gave animals as a sacrifice to help them remember Jesus. Now we don’t do that anymore. Jesus suffered and died for us, and because of Him, we can be forgiven when we make a mistake. Jesus wants us to have soft, kind hearts. When we say sorry and try to be better, He forgives us. I’m thankful Jesus helps me be forgiven. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior- In the Old Testament, the Israelites offered animal sacrifices to help them remember that forgiveness comes through a sacrifice. These sacrifices pointed to the Savior, Jesus Christ, and what He would do for all of us. In Leviticus 1:1–4, we read about how a person brought an animal to the priest to make an offering for their sins. Today, we don’t offer animals anymore because Jesus Christ performed the perfect and final sacrifice. In Gethsemane and on the cross, He suffered for our sins, pains, and mistakes so we can repent and be forgiven. In 3 Nephi 9:19–20, Jesus teaches that instead of animals, we should offer a “broken heart and a contrite spirit.” That means we come to Him with humility, honesty, and a desire to change. When we turn to Jesus with a soft heart, He forgives us and helps us become better. I’m grateful for the Savior’s sacrifice. Because of Him, I can be forgiven, start again, and feel peace. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Week #2 May 4-10: Numbers 11-14; 20-24; 27

Junior- The Israelites forgot their blessings and started to complain. They didn’t remember all the wonderful things God had done for them. We can remember our blessings! We have been given amazing blessings like family, food, friends, and a beautiful world. When we say “thank you” to Heavenly Father, we feel happy. I know I can be thankful for the blessings God gives me. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior- In Numbers 11, the Israelites began to complain even though God had blessed them with miracles. He had saved them from Egypt, protected them, and given them food from heaven. But they forgot their blessings and focused on what they didn’t have. Sometimes we do the same thing. We forget the many things Heavenly Father has given us, like our families, our homes, our talents, our bodies, the scriptures, and the Savior’s love. When we don’t remember our blessings, it’s easy to complain. Heavenly Father wants us to be grateful. When we choose to “count our blessings,” we feel happier, more peaceful, and closer to Him. Gratitude helps us see how much the Lord cares about us. I know that when we thank Heavenly Father for our blessings, He fills our hearts with joy and helps us notice even more good things in our lives. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Week #3 May 11-17: Deuteronomy 6-8; 15; 18; 29-30; 34

Junior- A long time ago, Moses taught people about Jesus. Today, our prophet teaches us about Jesus too. When we listen to the prophet, we learn how to follow Jesus, be kind, and choose the right. I know prophets help me learn about Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior- In Deuteronomy 18, the Lord told Moses that one day He would raise up a Prophet like Moses. That Prophet is Jesus Christ. Moses led the people, taught them God’s commandments, and helped them follow the Lord—and Jesus Christ does all of that perfectly. Today, we also have a living prophet who teaches us about Jesus Christ. He helps us know how to follow the Savior, feel the Spirit, and stay safe in a confusing world. The prophet reminds us to pray, keep the commandments, repent, and love others, just like Jesus taught. When we listen to the prophet, we are really choosing to follow Jesus Christ. The prophet’s words bring peace, comfort, and truth. I know that Jesus Christ leads His Church through living prophets, and I’m grateful they help us learn more about Him. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Week #3 May 18-24: Joshua 1-8; 23-24

Junior- In the scriptures, the Lord told Joshua to read His words. When we read the scriptures, Jesus helps us feel safe and happy. The scriptures teach me what Jesus wants me to do. Even reading a little helps me feel close to Him. I know the scriptures bless me. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior- In Joshua 1:8, the Lord tells Joshua to read and think about the scriptures every day. He promises that if Joshua does this, he will be blessed and will “have good success.” This teaches us that studying the scriptures brings blessings into our lives, too. The scriptures help us know what Jesus wants us to do. When we read them, we feel peace, we feel the Spirit, and we can make better choices. Other scriptures teach the same thing. Nephi said the word of God can help us stay strong, and Jacob said it gives us hope. The scriptures guide us just like a light. When we read even a little bit every day, we invite Heavenly Father into our lives. We can make a plan to read a few verses in the morning or before bed, and the Lord will bless us for trying. I know that reading the scriptures helps us feel closer to Jesus Christ and brings blessings into our lives. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Two Primary talk cards about scripture study from Joshua 1–8 and 23–24 on a peach background.

Week #5 May 25-31: Judges 2-4; 6-8; 13-16

Junior- In the scriptures, we learn that Samson was strong because he kept his promises to Heavenly Father. When we keep our promises, like choosing the right, helping others, and remembering Jesus, Heavenly Father helps our hearts be strong, too. I know keeping covenants helps me be strong. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior- In Judges 13:5, we learn that Samson was given special strength from the Lord because of the covenants he made. His strength came from keeping the promises God asked him to keep. Just like Samson received physical strength, we can receive spiritual strength when we keep our covenants. When we are baptized, we promise to follow Jesus Christ, help others, and remember Him. The scriptures teach that when we keep these covenants, we are filled with the Spirit, we are comforted, and we have power to make good choices (see Mosiah 18:8–10; D&C 20:77, 79). Just like exercising makes our bodies strong, keeping our covenants makes our spirits strong. We feel braver, kinder, and more able to resist temptation. Jesus Christ gives us strength as we keep the promises we made with Heavenly Father. I know that keeping my covenants helps me become stronger and closer to the Savior. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Junior– When we serve others, we are serving Jesus Christ. In Doctrine and Covenants 42:38, Jesus says,“Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, ye have done it unto me.” Jesus helped people by healing the sick, helping the poor, and showing love. We can follow Him by being kind, sharing, or helping others. When we serve others, we show love for Jesus. I know that helping others makes Jesus happy and spreads His love. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior- When we serve others, we are also serving Jesus Christ. In Doctrine and Covenants 42:38, the Lord says, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, ye have done it unto me.” This means that when we help someone, it’s like we are helping Jesus. Jesus spent His life serving others. He healed the sick, helped the poor, and showed love to everyone. We can follow His example by being kind, sharing, or helping someone in need. We can help a friend at school, visit someone who is lonely, or even just smile at someone who is sad. When we serve others, we are showing love for Jesus. I know that when we serve, we are helping Jesus and spreading His love to others. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Week #2- May 5-11 “The Promises Shall Be Fulfilled”

teal vertical rectangle with white vertical rectangle inside with text from May 5-11 primary talks with black circle with black and white temple graphic in bottom left corner and the text frosting and glue in white centered at bottom

Junior– Jesus Christ will come to earth again someday. This is called the Second Coming. In Doctrine and Covenants 45:44, Jesus says, “I will come … in the clouds of heaven, clothed with power and great glory.” This will be a happy day for everyone who loves Him. When someone special, like a grandparent, comes to visit, we get ready. We can prepare for Jesus to come again by praying, learning about Him, and being kind. When Jesus comes, He will bring peace, and there will be no more sadness or pain. I feel happy and excited for His return. I know Jesus loves us and will come again. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior– Jesus Christ will come to earth again someday. This is called the Second Coming, and it will be a happy time for everyone who loves Him and follows His teachings. In Doctrine and Covenants 45:44, it says, “behold, I will come; and they shall see me in the clouds of heaven, clothed with power and great glory.” We can look forward to this day with faith and hope. When someone special, like a grandparent or a friend is coming to visit I am so excited. I get ready by cleaning up or planning something fun. We can prepare for Jesus to come again by praying, learning about Him, and being kind to others. When Jesus comes again, He will bring peace to the earth. The scriptures promise that there will be no more sadness or pain, and we will live with Him in love and joy. These promises make me feel happy and excited for His return. I know Jesus Christ loves us and will come again. If we follow Him and prepare, we can feel ready and excited for that day. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Week #3- May 12-18 “Seek Ye Earnestly The Best Gifts”

teal vertical rectangle with white vertical rectangle inside with text from May 12-18 primary talks with black circle with black and white temple graphic in bottom left corner and the text frosting and glue in white centered at bottom

Junior– Heavenly Father loves us and gives us spiritual gifts to help others. In Doctrine and Covenants 46:8, it says these gifts are given to bless everyone. Some spiritual gifts are being kind, having faith, or sharing the gospel. We can use these gifts to comfort others or teach them about Jesus. We can pray to Heavenly Father to know our gifts and use them to help others. I know Heavenly Father gives us these gifts because He loves us. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior– Heavenly Father loves us and gives us spiritual gifts to help us and others. In Doctrine and Covenants 46:8, we learn that these gifts are given to bless everyone. We all have different spiritual gifts because Heavenly Father knows how we can help others best. Some examples of spiritual gifts are being kind, having faith, understanding the scriptures, or sharing the gospel. Maybe you’ve seen someone use their spiritual gifts like comforting a friend who is sad or teaching them about Jesus Christ. We can use our spiritual gifts to bless others. We need to pray and ask Heavenly Father to help us know what gifts we have. Then, we can practice using those gifts to help people around us. I know Heavenly Father gives us these gifts because He loves us. When we use our spiritual gifts to help others, we show love for Him and His children. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Week #4- May 19-25 “That Which is of God is Light”

teal vertical rectangle with white vertical rectangle inside with text from May 19-25 primary talks with black circle with black and white temple graphic in bottom left corner and the text frosting and glue in white centered at bottom

Junior– Heavenly Father loves us and has a special plan for His children. Part of His plan is for men and women to get married and have families. In Doctrine and Covenants 49:15, it says, “Marriage is ordained of God.” When a man and woman get married, they can create a loving home and teach their children about Jesus. Families are a wonderful blessing from Heavenly Father. I’m thankful for families and know marriage is part of Heavenly Father’s plan to make us happy. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Senior– Heavenly Father loves us and has a special plan for His children. Part of His plan is for men and women to marry and have families. In Doctrine and Covenants 49:15, the Lord says, “Marriage is ordained of God.” Marriage is part of His plan and is very important to Him. When a man and woman get married, they can work together to create a loving home where they can raise children and teach them about Jesus Christ. Families are one of the greatest blessings Heavenly Father gives us. In “The Family: A Proclamation to the World,” we learn that families are central to God’s plan. I’m thankful for the blessing of families and for Heavenly Father’s plan. I know marriage between a man and woman is part of His plan to bring us happiness. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Week #1- Repentance brings joy.

Junior– We use soap and water to keep our hands clean. Repentance is like soap and water for our spirits. Repentance can make you feel clean after you make a mistake. When we repent, we can feel joy because Heavenly Father loves us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Senior- When we make a mistake and feel bad afterward, that mistake can leave us feeling sad and guilty. We can feel relief from the pain of our mistakes by repenting. When we know we’ve done something wrong, we can ask our Heavenly Father (and anyone we may have hurt) for forgiveness. We then need to do our best to make things better and make the decision to not make the same mistake again. If we follow these steps, Heavenly Father will forgive us. We are forgiven through the power of Christ’s Atonement. He atoned for our sins so that we can feel the joy and peace of forgiveness. Because of His sacrifice on our behalf, we can repent and continue on the path to eternal life. I am grateful to know that the Lord loves me even as I make mistakes. I am grateful to be able to feel the joy of repentance in my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Week #2- God has given us prophets, seers, and revelators.

Junior– The prophet is called by God. He tells us things that we need to know. When I listen to the prophet, I know that He shares the word of God. I am happy when I listen to the prophet. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Senior– We believe that God has given us prophets, seers, and revelators in our day who are called to bear a special witness of Jesus Christ. A prophet speaks for God. He tells us what God wants us to know. A seer can see the past, present, and future, and a revelator reveals the will of God. The first presidency and the apostles of our church have all been called as prophets, seers, and revelators. Ammon described the calling of prophet, seer, and revelator as a “great power given him from God.” (Mosiah 8:16) I am grateful for a living prophet and apostles who guide me by teaching me what God wants me to know. I know that they receive revelations on my behalf. I know that I am doing the right thing when I follow and obey their teachings. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Week #3- I can stand for Jesus Christ, even when I stand alone.

Junior– I can choose the right even when I am the only one. I know that I can stand for Jesus by choosing the right. I want to be strong and faithful like Abinadi. I will be blessed when I stand for Jesus. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Senior– I can stand for Jesus Christ, even when it’s not popular. When kids at school or friends of mine make wrong choices and want me to join in, I can be strong and faithful and stand for what I believe. I am inspired by Abinadi’s example. He trusted in the Lord and stood alone as he preached the truth about Jesus Christ to King Noah. He did not fear. I can be like Abinadi by not letting fear keep me from standing up for what is right. I will have the courage to choose the right even when doing so alone. However, as President Thomas S. Monson has reminded us, “in reality, we are never alone when we stand with our Father in Heaven.” I know that when I stand up for Jesus Christ, I will be blessed. I will be courageous as I stand as a disciple of Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Week #4- When I am baptized, I make a covenant with God.

Junior– When I am baptized, I make promises to God. I promise to help others and to obey God. I want to be baptized someday so I can make my own special promises to God. Jesus was baptized and I want to follow His example and be baptized, too. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Senior– When we are baptized, we enter into a covenant with God. We promise to take His name upon us, to help others, to stand as a witness of Christ, and to serve God and keep His commandments. A covenant is a two-way promise. That means that God makes promises to us, too. God promises us that, when we honor our baptismal covenants, He will forgive us of our sins, bless us with the Holy Ghost, and give us eternal life. Getting baptized is the first ordinance of the gospel. When we choose to be baptized, we are showing our faith in Jesus Christ. He set the example for us to be baptized. He is happy when we follow His example. I know that the covenants I made at baptism will set me on the path toward eternal life. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
